What the device showed: photo portals and human energy
People often describe goosebumps, warmth and trembling fingers in front of photo portals. We wanted to see whether this response shows up in the body's readings, so we ran a pilot study with Bio-Well, a gas discharge visualization device. It captures the glow around the fingertips and uses it to calculate a person's overall energy level, heart energy and stress level.

How the study went
- 01BaselineThe participant rests for five minutes, then the device captures the glow of all ten fingers. The measurement is taken twice and averaged.
- 02First contactThe person chooses the photo portal that resonates most and simply looks at it for a few minutes, with no instructions. Then two more measurements.
- 03Guided connectionFifteen minutes of the author's guided connection by voice, the same for everyone. Participants seem to fly to the same photo portal, stay with the details that catch the eye, feel the air, the sounds and the colour, and then return to their state. The guided connection suggests nothing and does not tell anyone what to feel. Then a new measurement.
- 04Final measurementA short interview about the experience, followed by the final measurement.
All measurements took place in the same room, and the device was calibrated before each participant. Hands clean and dry, no rings or watches, at least two hours after a meal.
What we saw
The heart opens first. After just a few minutes in front of a photo portal, heart energy rose in three quarters of participants. The overall energy level follows, and by the end of the study it is above baseline in three quarters as well. The heart seems to set off the response of the whole body.
The voice barely changed the overall energy level: +3.9% after the silent contact with a photo portal and +4.0% after the guided connection. The main shift comes from the photo portal itself.
Is 4% a lot? Bio-Well's large dataset, hundreds of thousands of measurements worldwide, shows that a strong magnetic storm lowers the overall energy level by 4-5% on average. Here the shift is of the same size, only upward.
The response did not depend on whether a person had seen these works before, although about half of the participants met photo portals for the first time. Tears and strong emotions during the session did not directly match the device readings either.
What comes next
This is a pilot study with 17 participants, held in Moscow in 2026. We record the response and keep observing; in the next stages the sample will be increased.
